Wanja Knighton is the founder of RISE. An experienced entrepreneur in the UK, Kenya and internationally, she has also worked in administration at the University of Oxford for more than a decade. In the last two years, she served as a trustee for a local breastfeeding support charity, focusing on diversity as well as an advisor in research projects regarding BAME experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.


Dr Rose Kogie-Henshall MB chB MRCP  FRCS Dip IMC FRCEM MPhil Med Law, is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine, having trained and worked in Kenya and later in the UK is now based in the North West of England. She has a special interest in Prevention Medicine, which led her to working in Wellbeing and in Cosmetic Medicine both in the UK and in Kenya. Her passion for justice and fairness in the Medical field inspired her to study Medical Law. She brings with her extensive first hand experience in frontline medicine both in the UK and abroad as well as observations in the role skin colour plays in various aspects of clinical practice from training tools to diagnostics and delivery of care.


Ambassador Mohamed is an accomplished and committed international civil servant and diplomat. The first woman to lead the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Kenya. She has been President of UNCTAD (WTO). She has served as a member of the Executive Bodies and Committees of the World Health Organisation and the United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS.  She has also served as the Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).


Dr Economides FCIHT is working in innovation within the public sector, specialising in areas of mobility, analytics and new disruptive technologies such as autonomous vehicles and drones. He has previously worked within academia and the private sector, including startups. He is passionate about using data and technological methods to drive policy and social change.


Dr Paul MBBS BSc (Hons.) MRCGP DRCOG DFSRH DPD (Dip.Derm) PGCert. is a Senior Clinical Fellow in Dermatology and GPSI in London. She has a special interest in developing digital health technologies, medical education, visual literacy, photography, dermoscopy, skin surgery and AI in Dermatology diagnostics. She is also an Associate Member of the FCI and member of the Shuri Network.
